Collaboration with the Workforce Council

Young people are needed to take up roles in the health and community sector and the Workforce Council, the key body charged with recruiting the next generation workforce for these sectors, is keen to talk with them.

So Y-TV is working with the Workforce Council on a range of exciting new Holiday Workshops for December 09/January 10, on the theme: “Working in my community”.

The Workshops will be offered in Brisbane, Logan and online, with possibly more centres to come. Details will be announced soon, so keep watching.

Julia Gillard

Meeting with Julia Gillard

Julian and Gabe had a very productive meeting with the deputy Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, at the Beenleigh Community Cabinet meeting in July. We were very pleased at the interest Ms Gillard showed in the Y-TV activities.

The outcome is a commitment from her Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations to work with us on all the ways in which their programs might work for children and young people who want to improve their digital production skills.

We’ll keep you posted.
